The primary emotions related to the fire element are love and hate. Fire Energy governs our ability to experience pleasure and joy. When in balance we are loving, spontaneous, and joyful. Life is full of laughter, fun, and creativity. There is a real felt instinct for life. We feel in sync with ourselves and others, are filled with gratitude and feel blessed to be alive. When our fire energy is out of balance we may experience a lack of love for ourselves as well as severe mood swings. We may become restless, hyperactive, over-excitable, excessively talkative, sexually overactive and then adversely swinging in the opposite direction with a tendency to burn out with exhaustion or depression, or in the extreme suicide. The key lesson for the fire element is that by loving ourselves we set ourselves free. If you are looking for ways to manage mood swings and increase feelings of self-love then following balancing activities, yoga poses, and foods are recommended.
