Ditching the cold water has helped my tummy enormously. As tempting as it might be to have an icy cold glass of water to hydrate, more often than not this can actually exacerbate any existing stomach issues/ digestive issues. For years I have suffered with a tumultuous tum, dodgy digestion and food sensitivities. And switching to drinking water no colder than room temperature (although preferably warm water) has really helped me. We have all heard the health tip ‘drink more water’, but be mindful of how you are getting your daily dose of H20. Sip it… Slowly… And warmly! Cold water dampens our digestive fire, or ‘Agni’ as it is called in Ayurveda. This is particularly poignant in the morning as our digestion is at its weakest and thus needs all the help it can get to fire up after a nights sleep.

  • Particularly in the morning - a glass of warm water at least half an hour before eating
